We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership between The Daddyless Daughters Project and Commonweal Housing, paving the way for a trauma informed housing initiative supporting girls and young women affected by the criminal justice system.
With funding and support from Commonweal Housing, we embark on the development of the Prosperity House Project — a trauma informed housing model tailored for marginalised girls & young women with care experiences and involvement with the criminal justice system.
Prosperity House Project is not merely bricks and mortar; it's a vision of a secure and nurturing housing project that goes beyond shelter. Our model is designed to provide these young women with more than a home — it's a sanctuary where they can access personalized, trauma-informed support. We aim to empower our girls and young women to overcome the traumas they've faced, fostering healthy lifestyles and behaviour patterns that significantly reduce the risk of re-offending.
Aliyah Ali, CEO, and founder of The Daddyless Daughters Project expresses her deep commitment to this endeavor: "It’s an absolute honor to be working with Commonweal Housing on our housing solution idea: Prosperity House Project. I once was a looked-after child who was groomed and exploited and who needed a home like the one we are aiming to create." - Aliyah Ali, CEO & Founder
Our organisation is rooted in lived experiences, research, and trauma-informed approaches, specifically supporting girls and young women affected by family breakdown, abuse, and adversity. Ali continues, "We are committed to providing tangible solutions for girls and young women with overlapping unmet needs who have come into contact with the criminal justice system and look forward to the potential of opening our home with you all."
This partnership represents a pillar of hope, a commitment to not only address immediate needs but to create a life lasting impact on the lives of those who have faced adversity and exploitation.
The Prosperity House Project is not just a home; it's a transformative journey toward healing, resilience, and a brighter, more secure future.
Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting venture. Together, with Commonweal Housing, we are shaping a path towards prosperity, stability, and empowerment for the young women who need it most.
