WHO WE ARE
The Daddyless Daughters Project CIC was founded by Aliyah Ali and is a non profit organisation based in South East London. We support girls and young women who have been affected by family breakdown, abuse and adversity across London between the age of 14 - 30 years old. We support girls and young women to go on to build and sustain healthy relationships and lifestyles in aid of preventing criminal and sexual exploitation.
At the Daddyless Daughters Project, our aim is to support vulnerable and marginalized girls and women in building healthy lifestyles and relationships free from the impact of childhood trauma and complex behavioural patterns. We provide a platform for marginalized women that empowers them to thrive and supports them in developing healthy behaviour patterns, relationships, and lifestyles free from exploitation, abuse, and trauma.
Established in 2017 by Aliyah Fadeela Ali in southeast London, Daddyless Daughters has provided support to over 150 girls and has trained more than 1000 practitioners and professionals across the UK. This includes frontline police officers in collaboration with HMICFRS, the Clinks Network, the London Probation Service, Ministry of Justice, and Women in Prison. We have also partnered with organizations such as the NHS, Solace Women's Aid, Agenda Alliance, and Active Community Network to deliver projects and programs, fostering a multi-agency approach to our work as required.
Our specialised programs offer comprehensive support and intervention measures to address the unique challenges faced by young women with complex social and emotional needs through a lived experience lens based on trauma-informed approaches and research. This gives us a unique positioning to thoroughly understand the profound impact of childhood trauma, often resulting in vulnerability to exploitation and complex behavioural patterns.
Our senior team has a combination of both personal and professional experience working with vulnerable young people for over 10 years in multiple settings such as social services, children's homes, youth work settings, schools and prisons.
Data compiled by the Fatherless Daughters Network shows that fatherless daughters are:
-
Eight times more likely to go to prison
-
Five times more likely to commit suicide
-
20 times more likely to have behavioural problems
-
32 times more likely to run away
-
10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances
-
Nine times more likely to drop out of high schools
-
33 times more likely to be seriously abused
-
73 times more likely to be fatally abused
-
One-tenth as likely to get A’s in school

WHO WE ARE
The Daddyless Daughters Project CIC was founded by Aliyah Ali and is a non profit organisation based in South East London. We support girls and young women to go on to build and sustain healthy relationships and lifestyles in aid of preventing criminal and sexual exploitation.
We specialise at implementing a trauma-informed approach which is embedded in all services, workshops and projects we deliver. Trauma-informed care refers to a framework that recognises the pervasive impact of trauma on individuals and actively works to avoid re-traumatization. This approach is grounded in an understanding of the emotional, psychological, and physical effects of trauma and aims to create a safe, supportive environment.
We begin by deeply understanding each young woman's background, identifying her unique needs, experiences, and strengths, ensuring that our proposed support plan is tailored to her specific situation.
Person-Centred Focus

We then design and deliver trauma-informed mentorship, workshops, and creative expression projects that are shaped by the young woman's individual circumstances, and begin to provide targeted support that addresses their specific challenges.
Tailored Prevention and Intervention

Finally, we empower our girls and young women by providing them platforms and opportunities to share their stories, express themselves creatively, and amplify their voices, fostering growth and resilience.
Empowerment Through Expression
